For example, in 2017, compared to 2016, it increased by 20%.
”The last decline in trade is understandable. This is an outcome of the sanctions policy. Many things are lost because Russia managed to re-focus towards other markets,” Chairman of the State Duma said. “Over the past years, under the sanctions, we have taken a number of decisions that have helped to make our economy stronger.” Viacheslav Volodin reminded that Russia faces the task of becoming the fifth economy in the world.
At the same time, he stressed that “sanctions are not the way we have chosen, we consider that pressure on other countries with a help of such methods unacceptable.”
According to him, relations between states should be based on principles of friendship and trust.
Ana Pastor Julián stressed that “Spain has always maintained and will continue to maintain dialogue with Russia.” She noted that in modern world strengthening of bilateral relations always benefits both countries.
In particular, President of the Congress of Deputies of the Cortes Generales of the Kingdom of Spain expressed gratitude to Russia for the technological support of Spanish enterprises.
“An open dialogue will lead us to maximum results in relations between our states. This relationship, this dialogue is already historical,”she added.
Viacheslav Volodin invited Ana Pastor to pay a visit Russia in the first half of 2019, as well as to visit the State Duma. In addition, he asked to convey greetings to Pedro Agramunt, Spanish politician who served as Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in 2016–2017.
