During the meeting with the members of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, headed by Chairman of the Security and Intelligence Commission Selami Altinok, the Turkish parliamentarians confirmed that after the meeting with Viacheslav Volodin Binali Yıldırım instructed the Chairman of the Security and Intelligence Commission to take control over the implementation of the petition of the State Duma Chairman regarding a minor Russian citizen.

Following the long dialogue, the Turkish parliamentarians assured the Russian delegation that all issues raised by the delegation of Russian parliamentarians, in particular, request to meet the child, to receive information about her health and social protection, and clarify consistent steps to unconditional return of the Russian minor citizen Aydemir Aileen Sufia to the Russian Federation, would be reported to the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament. said: “we have been dealing with the illegal detention of minor citizen Aileen in Turkey at the very high level since 2011. Overall, the goal of the delegation’s visit to Turkey was the implementation of measures aimed at protection of the rights of a minor Russian citizen. This goal was achieved. The Turkish authorities, of course, defend their citizen and refer to the independence of the judicial authorities, but we clearly indicated our position to the Turkish colleagues and will definitely achieve the reunion of a minor Russian citizen with her mother and sister. We have all the necessary documents confirming her citizenship and official registration in Russia, including her Russian passport.

This is a case of a minor Russian citizen who does not have Turkish citizenship, does not have Turkish registration, and does not have a single Turkish document, meaning that she illegally stays in Turkey. In fact, Aileen is an invisible child there, as due to the lack of documents the Turkish side does not have her in any Turkish database. She is not able to attend school and receive medical care. A Turkish citizen who kidnapped her in 2012 was convicted by the Istanbul criminal court under article 234 of the Turkish Criminal Code for kidnapping and detaining a girl and sentenced to 5 months in prison on probation”.

“This situation is a gross violation of the rights and freedoms of our little citizen, and we will work with international lawyers and will do everything possible to ensure that the girl returns to Russia, her homeland,” concluded Kazbek Taisaev.
