Viacheslav Volodin: Commission for Cooperation between the State Duma and the Narodna skupština will discuss the development of digital economy

“The topic we are going to discuss today in the framework of the joint Commission is the development of the digital economy. He believes that it is important to share experiences, as well as to analyze joint projects in this area “to support all the positive trends.”

“Speaking about this issue, we should understand that it covers all countries, so the more we raise these issues at the level of international cooperation and discussion, the more we can do for each of our countries,” the Chairman of the State Duma believes.

The parties also again agreed on the rejection of the sanctions policy of Western countries against Russia and Russian parliamentarians.

“Politics should not be sanctioned. By targeting them through sanctions, we violate interests of both the people and the country it represents,“ Viacheslav Volodin said, reiterating his sincere gratitude to his Serbian colleague for Serbia's principled position on this issue.

Maja Gojković agreed that depriving of “the the right to vote of the people of the state is very dangerous.”

“We are convinced that the Great Russian Federation can sustain all economic pressure and sanctions,” she said, adding that “[Russia] is the proud country that will not allow to dictate [terms]”.

“We respect international principles. But we take our decisions in the interests of the Serbian people, and this is good cooperation with the Russian Federation,” the parliamentarian noted.

“I am very glad that the work of the Commission has proved that the decision [to establish it] is important for our inter-parliamentary cooperation,” Maja Gojković said during the meeting.

Viacheslav Volodin also congratulated his Serbian colleagues on the 74th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade from the Nazis invaders, recalling that Soviet soldiers and Serbian partisans fought together to liberate Europe from Nazism and stressed that these are the values that unite the two nations.

Earlier, the Speaker of the Narodna skupština of the Republic of Serbia addressed the State Duma at the plenary session. In addition, her bilateral meeting with Viacheslav Volodin was also held on October 23.
