Nigmatulin was held within the framework of the working visit of the Chairman
of the State Duma to Turkey to attend the Third Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian
Countries’ Parliaments.
The Chairman of the State Duma and the Speaker of the lower
chamber of the Parliament of Kazakhstan discussed issues that will be
prioritized at the upcoming event, in particular, issues of economic
cooperation, ecology, environmental protection, and sustainable development of Eurasia.
“It is extremely important for us that there is an opportunity to constantly communicate,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
In addition, the parties agreed to develop inter-parliamentary relations in order to facilitate the implementation of the agreements reached by the presidents of the two countries.
The Third Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments will be held in Antalya from October 9. Its topic is “Economic Cooperation, Environment and Sustainable Development in Eurasia”.
The event is attended by 25 heads of parliament

Relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are developing steadily. Both countries are actively investing in each other's economies, being important trading partners. Russia ranks first in terms of turnover among the trade partners of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Russian and Kazakh parliamentarians maintain close
ties, actively interacting on the platforms of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly
of the CIS member states, the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
The first bilateral meeting of Viacheslav Volodin and Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin was held within the PA CSTO on November 24, 2016. The next meeting was held during the official visit of the Chairman of the State Duma to Kazakhstan in December 2016. “The main task of the two parliaments is the legal support of the decisions that were taken by the heads of the two states,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
The heads of the chambers of parliaments of the two countries also met during the Second Meeting of Speakers of the Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments on June 23, 2017, and on the PA CSTO platform on October 12, 2017.
On May 20–21, 2018, Nurlan Nigmatulin paid an official visit to Moscow, during which he had a meeting with the Chairman of the State Duma.
In addition, on May 21, 2018, the speakers held the 10th meeting of the Inter-Chamber Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation
between the State Duma and Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition “25 Years of Strategic Partnership of Kazakhstan and Russia” (in the State Duma).

The Second Meeting of Speakers of the Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments was held in the capital of the Republic of Korea, Seoul on July 27–29, 2017. It was attended by the heads of parliaments of 28 countries, including the countries of the European Union. The delegation of Russian parliamentarians was led by Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin.
The First Meeting of Speakers of the Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments was held in Moscow on April 19–20, 2016, bringing together the leaders of the highest legislative bodies of 18 countries.
