noted the role of President of the Russian Federation
Vladimir Putin and Chairman of the Government of Japan
Shinzō Abe in the development of relations between
the countries.
”Our task is to develop cooperation within the framework of the parliamentary dimension and do everything to provide legislative support to the agreements reached by the leaders of our states,“ the State Duma Chairman said referring to Chūichi Date.

of the House of Councilors of the Parliament
of Japan, Chūichi Date, in turn, noted that the leaders
of the two states had already met 21 times. ”Thus, personal trust
relationships have been formed, and this contributes to the development
of cooperation between Japan and Russia in various fields,“
Chūichi Date said. The Chairman of the upper house
of the Japanese parliament expressed hope that his visit would give
”an additional impetus to the intensification
of inter-parliamentary relations“.
According to Viacheslav Volodin, the parliaments of the two
countries have great potential for building relations and cooperation
aimed at the final result.
Viacheslav Volodin said that today the State Duma is considering
a bill on ratification of the Convention between
the governments of Russia and Japan on eliminating double
taxation. ”Strengthening the contractual and legal framework is
a priority for our relations. This bill is important
for the promotion of the entire range of bilateral
relations,“ the Chairman of the State Duma said.
Viacheslav Volodin said that he would be happy to see his Japanese
counterpart at the third meeting of the Speakers
of the Parliaments of Eurasia in Turkey in October.
Chūichi Date thanked for the invitation and said that he was
considering the possibility of participation.
Chūichi Date also expressed gratitude to Russia for the fact
that the Japanese national team and Japanese fans were warmly
welcomed at the last FIFA World Cup.
