The State Duma ratified the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The document had been submitted by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Treaty was signed on June 19, 2024, in Pyongyang. It provides for the sustainable partnership based on the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs.

In addition, the parties confirmed their desire to strengthen global strategic stability and promote a multipolar system of international relations.

“Relations between the Russian Federation and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea at the parliamentary level are developing within the framework of inter-faction cooperation. Both the United Russia and the CPRF are doing a lot to strengthen mutual understanding and the parliamentary dimension, which helps us understand each other better.
