A meeting of the United
Russia factional group was held at the State Duma, chaired by Adalby
Shkhagoshev

, with participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov, who spoke about the further development of relations
between Russia and the United States of America, the situation in the world in general and in the Middle East in particular. The meeting participants drew
special attention to the current state of affairs in bilateral relations
between Russia and the United States of America, possible scenarios for their
development, changes in the concept and strategy of American foreign policy
after the presidential elections that will be held this November, and various ways
of a possible settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The meeting participants
also discussed the effectiveness of international organizations and their
ability to make independent collegial decisions not imposed by some countries,
since many states want to see an alternative approach to address global
problems.
The Deputy Foreign Minister told about the situation in the Middle East, Washington's role in it, and Russia's position. Answering questions from the members of the State Duma, Sergey Ryabkov gave the assessment of posible establishment of the Friends of Peace platform for a peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, and named European countries that could likely join the category of our friendly countries.

meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Ryabkov,” said
Adalby Shkhagoshev. “Our meetings are useful, especially in the conditions when
