The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
met
with the President of the Republic of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega and Vice
President Rosario Murillo.
“Relations between Russia and Nicaragua, based on the good traditions of friendship and mutual respect, are dynamically developing as strategic partnership. Major joint projects are being implemented in various fields, and the coordination of the efforts of our states in international affairs provides good results,” notes the message of the President of the Russian Federation.
Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized that the dynamics of relations between Russia and Nicaragua were set by the leaders of the countries — Vladimir Putin and Daniel Ortega. “Within the parliamentary dimension, we are looking for new forms of cooperation to make our own contribution to the development of relations between our countries. There has been created an inter-parliamentary commission, which format allows us to discuss specific issues and look for solutions,” he recalled.
“Nicaragua is our key counterpart in Latin America. We will develop relations on the foundation that you and our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin laid, and on our part, we will try to do everything possible to contribute in the interests of our states, citizens, so that the issues that we are discussing will be solved, well and, of course, there should be a result,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.
The Chairman of the State Duma expressed gratitude to Laureano Ortega Murillo for his personal contribution to the development of communications between the two countries: according to the Chairman of the State Duma, the Special Representative of the President of Nicaragua had managed to build a dialogue with both the legislative and executive authorities of Russia in a short period of time.
Daniel Ortega conveyed fraternal greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, Nicaragua feels Russian support in all areas.
“I would like to note those countries that are now part of the NATO bloc, led by the United States, their approach towards the developing countries of Asia, Africa, Latin America, as well as the changed approach towards Russia. We have always followed Russia's leadership and once again reaffirm the solidarity between our countries. This gave us strength to fight and win the war that the United States imposed on us,” said Daniel Ortega.
He noted Russian media such as Sputnik and RT, which provided true information to the world community about life and events in Nicaragua. “It is important to note that whoever does not respect this area, imposes sanctions, censors — they deprive freedom of speech, as has already been done in relation to the Russian media,” added the President of Nicaragua.
Daniel Ortega condemned the sanctions imposed against Russia, calling the initiators of these restrictive measures bandits. “They do not understand that their criminal activities in the economic and financial areas weaken not only themselves, but the entire world,” he said.
“As for the Ukrainian conflict, NATO should understand once and for all: they will not win, and all they are doing by continuing it is making the situation worse, and that gets them closer to defeat,” added the President of Nicaragua.
On behalf
of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the Chairman of the State Duma took
part in the ceremonial events dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution that were held in Managua. During his working visit to Nicaragua, Vyacheslav Volodin met with the Special Representative of the President of the Republic for Russian Affairs Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo
