The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
took part in the ceremonial events dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution.
“45 years ago, you chose your own path – to be free, to be independent. You defended your right to decide your own future, plan it, build a life, give birth to children, raise them, make friends. You won the right to be a sovereign state,” Vyacheslav Volodin told the participants of the event.
According to him, “it was a difficult struggle – struggle for independence”. “Our country supported Nicaragua. And it supports your country now. Together, we are fighting for a multipolar world, for the opportunity to build our future, we are doing everything to make the world fair,” added the Chairman of the State Duma.
“Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is a big friend of Nicaragua and its President Daniel Ortega. Our President visited Nicaragua, and Daniel Ortega remembers that time and shares his memories of his meeting with Vladimir Putin. Congratulations on the anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution! Together we will win!” concluded Vyacheslav Volodin.
The ceremonial events were held in the city center of Managua, in the Plaza de la
Revolución (Revolution Square). Representatives of foreign states, diplomatic
corps credentialed in Nicaragua, members of the Government and the Nicaraguan
society attended the events. The President Daniel Ortega and Vice President
Rosario Murillo greeted the participants of the events and congratulated them
on the significant date for the Republic.
