The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
met with the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Nicaragua for Russian Affairs Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo in Managua.
The Chairman of the State Duma noted the highest level of cooperation between Russia and Nicaragua in history, and added that the foundation for that had been laid by the leaders of the two states – Vladimir Putin and Daniel Ortega. Vyacheslav Volodin also expressed gratitude to Laureano Ortega Murillo for his personal contribution to the development and strengthening of relations between Russia and Nicaragua.
“We see that our relations have become more systematic, we see how consistently you solve the issues of the development of your country, how you overcome Washington’s unprecedented pressure. We, within the framework of the commissions, at the meetings, can discuss any issues. This only strengthens our relations,” said the Chairman of the State Duma, addressing the Special Representative of the President of Nicaragua.
According to Laureano Ortega Murillo, the support of the President and Parliament of Russia helped implement the current joint projects in various fields. “Mutual exchanges, those meetings we hold during your visit to our country, made it possible to do that,” Laureano Ortega Murillo told Vyacheslav Volodin. “We know that your support helps us develop our inter-parliamentary relations,” he added.
Laureano Ortega Murillo expressed gratitude to Vyacheslav Volodin for paying a visit to Nicaragua on these days when the country celebrates the 45th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution.

Earlier, Vyacheslav Volodin held negotiations with Gustavo Porras Cortés, President of the National Assembly of Nicaragua. After the meeting, the Chairman of the State Duma addressed the members of the National Assembly at the plenary meeting.
