“There is a crisis of power in Ukraine. President Zelensky’s term in office is over. According to the norms of the Constitution of Ukraine, the duties of the President of Ukraine for the period until the next election and inauguration of a new president should be performed by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada,” posted the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich Volodin

on his Telegram channel.

“But yesterday, its speaker Stefanchuk refused to perform new duties, explaining that former President Zelensky should “continue” to act as President,” he added.

“This contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine and is a seizure of power,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin. “The Constitution of Ukraine states that the extension of powers of the President can only be held through elections,” he added.

“All other cases can be considered as state crimes. This is exactly what Zelensky did,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.

“The heads of foreign states today are in a difficult position: they will be able to meet with former President Zelensky, that is their right, but international agreements and treaties signed with him will not have legal force, because he has no powers anymore. This carries risks of non-return of money and many other problems in the future,” he concluded.
