The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
noted that the international agenda “is an essential
part of the parliamentary activities”.
The Chairman of the State
Duma told about the main events that were planned to be held in 2024. “First,
we are going to hold the International Conference “Development of Parliamentarism”. We see a high interest in developing relations at the inter-parliamentary
level. And we, together with the chairmen of the relevant committees – Leonid E.
Slutsky
Leonid Eduardovich
and Leonid I. Kalashnikov
Leonid Ivanovich
– agreed that it would be right to hold the international conference with participation of representatives of countries of Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and several European countries,”
stressed Vyacheslav Volodin.
“We plan to invite to discuss pressing issues, talk about developing relations and, of course, make our contribution within the parliamentary dimension to establishment of good contacts with our partners. Moreover, their number increases every year,” added the Chairman of the State Duma.
The BRICS Parliamentary Forum will also held in 2024 under Russia’s chairmanship, according to Vyacheslav Volodin.
“We, together with our colleagues from the Federation Council, will make preparations for the meeting with our counterparts from the BRICS member states, as their number has increased, and now BRICS includes 10 member states. I hope that all members of the State Duma will actively participate in the preparation,” added the Chairman of the State Duma.
