“Just think: the USA has not ratified this document for 23 years, and yesterday their officials just woke up and remembered the members of the State Duma. They should resign due to irresponsibility. Cynicism and double standards, world on fire are the consequences of such attitude. They imagine themselves to be hegemons, supporters of a unipolar world,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
Vyacheslav Volodin noted the fact that US actions led to the conflict in Ukraine, as well as escalated the situation in Palestine in the Middle East. “There is no more Libya, no Iraq! It is great that we have managed to protect Syria. Or it would not have existed anymore. We remember perfectly well what happened in Europe in Belgrade,” he added.
“Today’s decision is just an alarming bell for them, and later the bell will toll for them,” continued Vyacheslav Volodin. “Therefore, it is necessary for them to realize their responsibility as quickly as possible. That is a mirror response. Now they are starting to spread hysterics all over the world. They are accusing, they are trying to find enemies. They should start with themselves,” he added.
The Chairman of the State Duma emphasized that the decision to withdraw the ratification of the CTBT was made solely in the interests of our country and the whole world, built on the basis of stability, security and justice. “This is the policy pursued by our President,” he stressed.
“As for the representatives of the Department of State and those who tried to interfere in our affairs, they should look [at] the results of this vote. 412 member of the State Duma supported the adoption, no one voted against and there are no abstentions. That is the response for them,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.
