The Parliamentary Commission on Investigation into Activities of the US Biological Laboratories on the Territory of Ukraine held its final meeting on Wednesday, March 22.

“Since 1991, US Department of Defense started to use the false pretext of eliminating weapons of mass destruction in the former Soviet republics and to implement the so-called Nunn–Lugar Act. The main programme executive is the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA),” stressed the Deputy Chairwoman of the State Duma.
Irina Yarovaya added that the Pentagon's action plan for the military biological exploitation of the post-Soviet republics included the signing of cooperation agreements that were deliberately discriminatory for countries.
“The USA used military biological project for creating a network of laboratories under its control and implemented projects aimed at studying especially dangerous infections that could worsen the epidemiological situation in the country. The Pentagon paid special attention to the national collections of microorganisms, and, first of all, it tried to steal them and send to the USA,” said the Co-Chair of the Commission.
According to Irina Yarovaya, the US biological laboratories are located primarily in the post-Soviet countries, in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa and are funded by the so-called US Defense Threat Reduction Agency. She added that in 2014 a special biotechnology unit was created in another department — the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
“Currently, DARPA is implementing more than 45 military programmes, 14 of them are related to synthetic biology. There are projects using gene editing technology “living factories”, safe genes. A number of military biological programmes are being implemented by the CIA structures,” she stressed.
Irina Yarovaya drew attention to the fact that not only Pentagon and the US intelligence services, but also corporations controlled and affiliated with them are involved in the global plan for the military biological exploitation of the world countries. Thus, the USA had created about 400 dual-purpose laboratories, and the research results would let the Americans control the spread of epidemics, as said the Deputy Chairwoman of the State Duma.

had repeatedly stressed the need to investigate the activities of US biological laboratories.
The Parliamentary Commission consists of 14 members of the State Duma and 14 senators. The Deputy Chairwoman of the State Duma Irina Yarovaya and Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev are the Co-Chairs of the Commission.
