The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zimbabwe Jacob Mudenda at his speech drew attention to the issue of food supplies to the poor countries in Africa. He said that the continent “is experiencing food difficulties due to the conflict in Ukraine and the promised grain supplies do not reach Africa”.

The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
stressed that the Russian Federation and the President
Vladimir Putin, with the mediation of Turkey, had done a lot to ensure that the “grain deal” was agreed and the Ukrainian grain was sent to the poorest
countries in the world.
“But of the total volume that was sent from Ukraine, the poorest countries in Africa got only 3%. Where is the rest? It can be found in the countries of the European Union,” said Vyacheslav Volodin. In this regard, the concern of colleagues from Africa is understandable, as he added.
“Ukrainian grain did not reach either Zimbabwe or other poorest countries, because it can be found in those countries where everything is fine. These are the EU countries and buyers in the USA,” emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma.
“Therefore, when the UN declares the need to provide assistance to the poorest countries, first of all the UN representatives should raise the issue of controlling supplies to the poorest countries, not shipments. Our colleagues from the UN and European parliaments should finally understand the current situation and its reasons,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
He added that such position was supported by many countries: for example, during a recent visit of the Chairman of the Chinese Parliament, Li Zhanshu said that in the situation with the conflict in Ukraine, “there was no other way for Russia”.
“The unipolar world, the desire to preserve it, leads to bad consequences. The world must be multipolar. Relations should be built on the principles of friendship and non-interference in the affairs of sovereign states. Then everything will be all right,” stressed the Chairman of the State Duma.
