said that “the world can be saved only in one case – if all countries strictly comply
with the Convention on the Prohibition of the Production of Bacteriological
Weapons.”
According to Irina Yarovaya, the Rospotrebnadzor should take into account the newly identified risks and threats when assessing the safety issues of Russian citizens.
“The current case in Lugansk (the contaminated banknotes found in the school yard – editor’s note), proves that the Convention on the Prohibition of the Manufacture, Production, and Distribution of Bacteriological Weapons is the only right solution. In fact, only a prohibition of production can provide safety,” the parliamentarian emphasized.
Distribution even through banknotes would not help sanitary shield to provide one hundred percent protection, as Irina Yarovaya said.
“The forms of bioterrorism, taking into account the aggressive attitude of the United States, will be very sophisticated and inventive, so we should realize if we, as a state, are ready to react adequately to these modern threats and how we will protect the lives and safety of our citizens,” stressed Irina Yarovaya.
