held a meeting with Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic to the Russian
Federation Eduardo Antonio Zuain.
The meeting participants discussed issues of parliamentary and scientific and technical cooperation, as well as the joint efforts between the two countries to counter the spread of coronavirus infection.
According to Ivan Melnikov, the Russian side “appreciates the fact that Argentina was the first Latin American country to recognize the Russian COVID vaccine”.
The Ambassador noted the fact that the timely delivery of the Sputnik V vaccine, as well as the start of a vaccine production in Argentina helped the country to vaccinate 80% of the population. According to Eduardo Antonio Zuain, the Russian help was provided just at the right moment and the Argentine side “will never forget that”.
The Ambassador of the Argentine Republic proposed to hold a meeting via videoconference between the friendship groups of the State Duma and the Parliament of Argentina, which should be formed in the near future.
