The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
held a meeting with the President of the National Assembly of the Central African Republic Simplice Mathieu Sarandji.
The meeting participants discussed development of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as cooperation between the two countries in such areas like economy, culture, education and some other issues.
Vyacheslav Volodin noted the need to maintain the ongoing inter-parliamentary dialogue, following the lead of the presidents of the Russian Federation and the Central African Republic.
“Our presidents are in constant dialogue and that is very important. For our part, we should do our best to provide legislative support to decisions made by our heads of states,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.
He recalled that it was planned to hold the 3rd International Forum “Development of Parliamentarism” in September 2022, where it was also planned to hold Russia-Africa Parliamentary Conference, so the Chairman of the State Duma invited Simplice Mathieu Sarandji to take part in those events.
Vyacheslav Volodin noted the importance of development of the dialogue between parliamentarians.
“For us, this issue is one of the priorities of the work of the State Duma. We should think of new forms of cooperation that would help to make our relations more effective and dynamic,” said Vyacheslav Volodin. He added that it would be right to create new forms of cooperation between the Central African Republic and the Russian business communities.
The Chairman of the State Duma also noted the importance of studying Russian language at the universities in the Central African Republic.
“Russia is a gracious
country. Only the Russian Federation and Russian President Vladimir Putin heard
the Central African Republic in difficult times,” stressed Simplice Mathieu
Sarandji.
He supported enhancement of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Central African Republic in such areas like economy, agriculture, culture and education.
“We need Russia and Russian culture,” he stressed.
