Ivan Melnikov: new possible US sanctions against Russia will affect US companies
The First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma stressed that Russia would handle any sanctions, as Russia is a country with great resources
“For many years we have been
living in such conditions when there is either imposition of sanctions or threats of new sanctions from the United States. The US authorities create the circumstances to act like prosecutors. They prefer to accuse without providing any
evidence. And at the same time they have officially declared that they would
not promote democracy by force in the world. So they should consider imposition
of sanctions on their own state for interfering in the internal affairs of other
states,” said Ivan Melnikov

According to him, a sovereign state, where people respect themselves and their history, will do anything, just not to be manipulated.
Ivan Melnikov recalled that “such a small state like Cuba had lived under sanctions for decades and had not been felled.”
“Russia is a huge country with great resources, and we can handle any situation. But everything related to the global economy always has a boomerang effect. If the United States wants to use the national debt issue, it would definitely affect many investors, and would indirectly, significantly affect its own companies,” stressed the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma.
“At the end of 2019, the US authorities mentioned that, analyzing what they should do next. Whether they create such situation or not, it would be their own choice. The Soviet Union and Russia have managed to keep the military balance in the world, our planet has not witnessed world wars for 76 years. Instructions and “suspicions” by the certain state, which is notorious for using nuclear weapon, should not influence our position,” stressed Ivan Melnikov.
