“I want our foreign colleagues to know that only during the spring plenary session the State Duma and the Federation Council accurately and cooperatively adopted more than three dozen laws necessary in pandemic conditions.
First of all, those measures were aimed at supporting the country’s economy and those industries most affected by the pandemic, including, transport, tourism, numerous small businesses, and others.
Many of these measures will be extended. For example, we reviewed the issue of extending the deadline for repaying overdue tax debts, fees, insurance premiums and loans by legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
And many decisions are related to medical sphere.
Incentive payments for medical workers were exempted from individual income tax. Important changes
were made to keep the prices of medicines and medical devices. At the same
time, we introduced responsibility for overpricing. We enshrined in law the possibility
to sale pharmaceuticals online, but at the same time, we also prepared
regulations for online drug sale and introduced criminal penalties for proliferation
of inferior or fraudulent medicines.
We gave the Government additional rights, in particular, in the field of registration of medical products. We established criminal liability for violation of sanitary and epidemiological norms.
Our experience is transparent and available, and we are always ready to share our best practices.
In addition, yesterday the State Duma adopted a law regulating the organization of distant and remote work,” said Ivan Melnikov.
