The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
said that the United States is trying to destabilize the situation in the Russian Federation by spreading misinformation
on the situation with coronavirus and ratings of authorities in Russia in order
to maintain its dominant position in the world.
“When we talk about American democracy and American achievements, we recognize that this country has achieved a lot. But these achievements are at the expense of other countries. Everything in the world is changing, nothing lasts forever, realizing this, the United States wants to maintain its priority position, as before, by weakening other states. In 1991, it did a lot for the collapse of the USSR,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
At the same time, the Chairman of the State Duma emphasized that “the collapse of the Soviet Union would not have been possible if its leadership had not made a lot of mistakes and lost the trust of the country's citizens.“
“Today it is quite obvious that the situation in our country is different. The President has the support of citizens; he has done a lot for Russia and constantly shows his effectiveness. The United States understands that this is Russia's strong side, in contrast to the period that we call the “nineties,” associated with Yeltsin, or the “eighties,” associated with Gorbachev. That is why, the United States’ attacks are aimed solely at discrediting the President, key authorities, leading politicians to undermine trust and weaken them,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
According to him, “the USA does not need strong Russia. Its goal is to make the country as weak as possible, and then divide it — it has such a plan, and it has not abandoned it. For this, in the leadership of our state it needs obedient politicians who would be guided by its interests, and not the interests of our citizens. Unprecedented pressure on Russia, spreading false information, interference in the internal affairs of the state is caused by the shaky position of the United States in the world. In the economy and technological development China began to overtake the United States, in the military-technological area it has been overtaken by Russia. To maintain a dominant position, the United States goes to extremes that it previously did not allow itself, both in relation to China and Russia.“
“America remains the main financial center, we shall admit it. However wanting to preserve its power and dominance in all areas, it violates international trade obligations taken earlier, makes null and void agreements in the field of global security, puts its European partners at a disadvantage, thinking only about itself,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
Therefore, according to the Chairman of the State Duma, ”US attempts to intervene in Russia's internal affairs are intensifying, but this only proves that Russia's position is becoming stronger, and not vice versa.“
Viacheslav Volodin emphasized that the United States and its satellites undermine primarily the advantage of our country, an effective President.
“Our President Vladimir Putin brought Russia to a new level, when it is taken into consideration and respected. If we take the 90s as a reference point, it is obvious that significant growth has occurred in all spheres of life. We are strengthening our position, and therefore they are striking at our advantage. Our advantage is our President, who is trusted by Russian people, while the United States is trying to undermine this trust. These are the methods of its CIA and the State Department. I don’t think I’ll reveal a big secret by saying that they maintain constant contact with some opposition politicians, as well as with several media and bloggers. However some of them may not even realize that they are being used in this game to destroy their own country,” he said.
“We should not only understand this but also resist interference in the internal affairs of our country. The goal of all these planned attacks is obvious — to destroy Russia. We must prevent this,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
