Leonid Slutskiy: publications on possible US anti-Russian sanctions relating to the oil market only escalate panic

“WSJ’s publications on possible US anti-Russian sanctions relating to the situation on the oil market are destructive in nature since they are aimed solely at escalating panic,” said the Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs. “Once again, double standards are being used: we don’t hear any initiatives regarding any restrictions on Saudi Arabia,” he added

“WSJ's publications on possible US anti-Russian sanctions relating to the situation on the oil market are destructive in nature since they are aimed solely at escalating panic,” believes Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutskiy Slutsky Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky

“But if we assume that such ideas are circulating in Washington (and we have recently heard about similar proposals of several American senators), then they are twice destructive. Once again, “double standards” are used: we don’t hear any initiatives regarding any restrictions on Saudi Arabia,” added Leonid Slutskiy.

“All this suggests that Washington acts selfishly and cynically. Even with the pandemic storming the world markets, the US is not going to reduce the appetites of its hegemony and is ready to use any excuse for unfair competition, as well as containing Russia,” he concluded.
