“Due to an outbreak of coronavirus, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe may cancel the spring session in Strasbourg scheduled for April 20–24. An official decision has not been made yet, but a warning about a possible cancellation has already been published,” said Leonid Slutskiy

According to him, if the April session is not held, it will be quite natural in the light of the pandemic announced by WHO and the need for measures to prevent further spread of the virus. “We will understand this. For the members of the Russian delegation — deputies, and senators — on the contrary, there will be an opportunity to stay in Russia and personally vote for significant amendments to the Constitution at polling stations on April 22,” he added.
“PACE has already taken some decisions, such as the cancellation of the visit of the rapporteurs of the monitoring commission to Russia, which was to be held in late March. The reason is the same — coronavirus,” the deputy said.
