The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
and Mir Rahman Rahmani took place on the sidelines of the 4th Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments, which will be held in Nur-Sultan.

The Chairman of the State Duma congratulated the Afghan counterpart on his election, expressing hope for further fruitful cooperation.

Speaking about the platform of the Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments, Viacheslav Volodin noted the growing interest in it among Eurasian politicians — this year the event will be attended by twice as many delegations as in the past. The attention of the parliaments of Western Europe to the Meeting is also growing.

”One hundred years ago, diplomatic relations between our countries were established. Russia was the first country that recognized the independence of Afghanistan. Our relations have lasted more than a century, there is enough wisdom to discuss the most difficult problems,“ said Viacheslav Volodin. He invited the Afghan parliamentarian and his colleagues to visit Moscow to ”strengthen“ the successes achieved in bilateral relations. Mir Rahman Rahmani accepted the invitation to visit Moscow and confirmed that he would participate in the Conference on security and interregional cooperation in Istanbul. He also confirmed his participation as an observer in the CSTO PA in Yerevan. Mir Rahman Rahmani thanked Viacheslav Volodin for the fact that Russia provided grants for training of military officers in Russian universities.

“We want to strengthen our relations even more than before,” Mir Rahman Rahmani said. He noted that “historical friendship” developed between Moscow and Kabul.
