Member of the State Duma commented on the decision of the UK regulator to fine RT news channel

The vague accusation of violating the principle of impartiality and objectivity in addition to a very serious extrajudicial fine clearly shows political engagement of the British supervisory authority, as said Chairman of the Committee on Information Policy, Technologies and Communications Leonid Levin

“The vague accusation of violating the principle of impartiality and objectivity in addition to a very serious extrajudicial fine clearly shows political engagement of the British supervisory authority. Despite the numerous proposals for easing tensions and building a constructive dialogue from representatives of our country, the authorities of the United Kingdom, apparently, consciously seeking to confront”, believes the Chairman of the Committee on Information Policy, Technologies and Communications Leonid Levin Levin Leonid Leonidoviсh Levin

“Freedom of speech and freedom of dissemination of information, equal conditions for all media is one of the key conditions for the democratic development of society, regardless of the country where it takes place”, noted the parliamentarian.

“In the current situation, it would be logical for the relevant authorities to pay attention and analyze the objectivity of the coverage of the British media operating in the territory of the Russian Federation”, the Chairman of the Committee on Information Policy, Technologies and Communications said.

“I would like to express my support for RT, whose correspondents have repeatedly shown courage and professionalism, providing information from the most dangerous places on the planet”, concluded Leonid Levin.
