Foreign delegations arriving to the Second International Forum ”Development of Parliamentarism“

On June 29, representatives from Luxembourg, Bahrain, Lesotho, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone arrived in Moscow. The forum will be held from 1 to 3 July in Moscow

Mamonaheng Mokitimi, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Lesotho, is among those who arrived today, on June 29, to Moscow. She thanked the Russian side for the warm welcome.

The Second Vice-President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia Tep Ngorn stressed that “we hope for productive cooperation between the Russian Federation and Cambodia.”

“The people and the Russian parliament are our friends,” he said.

“I am very glad that we came to this important conference between Russia and Africa to develop cooperation between the parliaments,” said the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Zimbabwe Jacob Mudenda.

On Saturday, the first delegates from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh also arrived in Moscow.

Irina Belykh also stressed the importance of developing relations with the African continent and noted that Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pays great attention to this area. 

“The ambassador speaks Russian fluently, it turned out that he studied in the Soviet Union. Our guests noted that modern Russia significantly differs from what it looked like before, in the 90s. Moscow has become brighter, more beautiful on the streets. It is pleasant to realize that our foreign colleagues see our country as strong and successful, they have high expectations with the International Forum, I hope that this communication will help us to establish even more productive cooperation between our countries, ”said Irina Belykh.

The Second International Forum ”The Development of Parliamentarism“ will be held on July 1–3 in Moscow. Earlier, the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin said that “we are waiting for about 800 foreign representatives from 131 countries. 85 countries will be represented at the level of official parliamentary delegations, of which 37 are African countries. ”
