“In 2018, over 500 parliamentarians and experts from 96 countries participated in the first forum. 58 official parliamentary delegations arrived at the forum,” he reminded.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma, “the interest in the forum is growing: representatives of parliaments, international parliamentary organizations and experts from more than 110 countries are planning to attend the event this year. We expect more than 80 official parliamentary delegations.”

International security, the digital economy, the fight against poverty and inequality, humanitarian law, environmental protection, the role of youth in the development of parliamentarism will be discussed at the forum.

Viacheslav Volodin noted that on July 3 the Russia — Africa parliamentary conference will be held. Representatives of more than 30 countries of the continent will take part in it.

The agenda of the event includes discussion of legislative support of trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between Russia and African countries, and the exchange of legislative experience.

“Strengthening relations with African countries, including humanitarian and trade and economic cooperation, is one of the priorities. The development of inter-parliamentary relations should intensify cooperation between our countries,” the Chairman of the State Duma emphasized.
