The Georgian leadership should apologize for the events that occurred at the session of the General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO) in the Georgian parliament, and draw conclusions from this situation. The Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutskiy

expressed such an opinion to journalists on Tuesday.
“As events in the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy have shown, Georgia is not able to ensure the safety of those who come to the high-level international event. This is very annoying, it is painful for me personally and many of my colleagues but time does not stand still. I think that the Georgian leadership should apologize,” said Leonid Slutskiy.
At the same time, he stressed that so far the Georgian authorities have not apologized to the Russian side.
“Secondly, I hope that appropriate conclusions will be drawn. And if we are sure that the safety of our citizens in Georgia are intact, and now we are not at all sure, then any decisions can be reconsidered. I would recommend the leadership of Georgia, politicians who represent the various political forces in the country, to think on what happened and draw adequate conclusions,” said the parliamentarian.
