Leonid Slutskiy: new JIT accusations on the MH17 do not withstand any criticism

Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutskiy commented on accusations of the Joint Investigations Team in relation to the MH17 disaster in Donbass in summer 2014. He noted that “the purpose of this so-called “investigation” is not to establish the truth but to slander Russia in any possible way. It is unworthy and low in relation to the memory of the victims of the disaster and the grief of their loved ones”

“The new accusations of the Joint Investigations Team on the Malaysian Boeing MH17 do not withstand any criticism. This is another example of a la “highly likely”. Again, no intelligible evidence was presented, only loud and categorical statements were made about the alleged involvement of Russian citizens.

Such accusations cannot be objectively perceived by Russia. The JIT consistently refused to engage Russian experts (as opposed to Ukrainian ones) in the investigation, despite repeated persistent requests. Our arguments and materials, including those collected by the experts of the Almaz-Antey concern, were completely ignored.

On the outside it is a biased approach. It seems that the purpose of this so-called “investigation” is not to establish the truth but to slander Russia in any way. It is unworthy and low in relation to the memory of the victims of the disaster and the grief of their loved ones,” stated Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutskiy Slutsky Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky
