The head of the committee added that in the parliamentary dimension Russia is in favor of stepping up cooperation with the states of the African continent. “The conference could be a forerunner of the October summit in Sochi,” said Slutskiy.

In his turn, Ihab Nasr said that the speaker of the Egyptian parliament had already confirmed his participation in the conference and the inter-parliamentary forum and would visit Moscow in July.

A Russia-Africa, accompanied with a business forum, summit will be held in Sochi on October 24 under the co-chairmanship of the presidents of the Russian Federation and Egypt, Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. In addition, a meeting of shareholders of the African Export-Import Bank will be held this year.
