“The new initiative of the US senators representing both parties virtually duplicates the bill called “sanctions from hell” and introduced before the mid-term elections to the US Congress. Thus Capitol Hill holds to a systematic position to consolidate pressure on Russia,” said Leonid Slutskiy Slutsky Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky

He noted that “the reasons are trite – American politicians are trying to give the US competitive advantages on world markets. Only they use dirty and cynical methods for this, and they cover up their actions with mythical ”Russian threat“.

The Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs stressed that there were no real grounds for sanctions for the alleged Russian intervention in the American elections.

According to Leonid Slutskiy, it is too early to talk about any response measures.

“I can only say that for many years Russia has been confronted with illegal Western restrictions. We have all the necessary tools to counter them, including at the legislative level,” concluded the parliamentarian.
