noted that during the meetings issues of economic and trade cooperation, interaction in the agricultural sector, and tourism development were discussed.

“The forum was held on the eve of the visit of the President of the Lebanese Republic to Moscow and the planned meetings with the leadership of the Russian Federation, which I am sure will strengthen the historically established Russian-Lebanese international relations based on mutual understanding and cooperation in various fields. Our task is to maintain trust between our countries. We are ready to provide support to restore confidence in the Lebanese civil society institutions, which are experiencing the consequences of civil wars. Russia does not interfere in the internal affairs of the state. We believe that the development of energy, tourism, education, as well as political cooperation will get the impetus to relations between Russia and Lebanon,” said Sergei Gavrilov.

The parliamentarian also took part in the opening of the Russian Film Festival, which took place in Beirut on Wednesday.
