“The issues of the North Korean settlement shall not be left to Washington alone. And the results of the suddenly ended second USA-DPRK summit prove it,” said Leonid Slutskiy Slutsky Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky

He stated that it is necessary to return to the format of the six-party talks on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. China, Japan, South Korea, and Russia can have a major impact on the situation.

He also believes that it is necessary to raise the issue of the DPRK again at the UN Security Council. “Given the positive attitude of Pyongyang to solve the problem, and based on the concerns of the entire world community, it would be logical to think about preparing a new resolution on easing sanctions against North Korea,” said the parliamentarian.

“As for Hanoi: both leaders, [Donald] Trump and Kim Jong-un, are characterized by a certain degree of unpredictability. We can only guess what really happened,” said the Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs. “I do not exclude that the United States in its usual manner began to impose its own conditions.

As we have repeatedly seen, in the case of the DPRK dictate is useless. We need to conduct a full-format dialogue with this state, preferably with an expanded membership,” said Leonid Slutskiy. He believes that ‘it is the only way to rule out the possibility of disrupting the settlement process.’
