The parliamentarian noted the fact that this year there are five less countries voted for it, but “nevertheless, the anti-Russian pool led by the United States used pressure to make it possible.” “The refusal of financing the resolution by the 5th Committee [deals with budgetary issues] is indicative,” Leonid Slutskiy Slutsky Leonid Eduardovich Slutsky

added.

According to him, a biased approach and double standards have prevailed again at the UN, and “politicking and Russophobic hysteria triumphed over the truth.”

“There are no harassments of the Crimean residents after it has returned to its native harbor – Russia, that is out of the question. This is all not true,” he stressed.

Leonid Slutskiy believes that “before agreeing to the allegations of deteriorating human rights, UN representatives should visit the peninsula, see how people live there and talk to ordinary citizens, as many European delegations have done before.” In this case, they will be able to form an objective opinion about “the real life of the Crimean people, and the issue would no longer be required once and for all.”

The head of the Committee expressed readiness to provide “any assistance for a visit of the UN mission to the peninsula.”

The UN GA approved the Ukrainian resolution, which condemned the “illegal establishment of laws, jurisdiction and administration by the Russian Federation” in the Crimea. The document was supported by 67 delegations, 27 opposed, 70 abstained.
