the Russian-Indian Inter-Parliamentary Commission will hold its 5th meeting. Before
that it had only four meetings for twenty years.
“We need to systematize the work of the commission. It should, of course, be based on specific decisions, its meetings should be annual. If this year we are meeting

He also said that it is necessary to move to closer working relations within the framework of the specified committees, in particular, to work out together legislative solutions in the sphere of the development of the digital economy.
“It is extremely important for us to develop inter-parliamentary relations as dynamically as the relations between the leaders of our states develop,” he stressed.
“When there is trust between the heads of state, it is almost half of the success,” the Chairman of the State Duma believes.
He reminded that last year Sumitra Mahajan, Chairwoman of the House of People of the Republic of India, spoke at a plenary meeting of the State Duma.
“Her arrival gave a serious impetus to the development of our relations,” said Viacheslav Volodin.
Russia and India are strategic partners, “we shall constantly develop this partnership.”
“It is necessary to use all possible parliamentary structures,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
Importance of cultural exchange
Viacheslav Volodin believes that cultural exchange between countries contributes to the strengthening of relations.
“This not only brings people closer, not only drives forward the cultural process but it allows us to get to know each other better,” he said.
He noted that Indian actor and director Raj Kapoor, perhaps, “more than anyone, was the ambassador who could convey the kindness of the country, the broad-mindedness of the Indian people through art, through wonderful films where he played, through his songs.”
