The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
to Turkey — on August 18, 2018, he
visited Ankara and took part in the sixth Congress of the Justice and Development Party of Turkey as the guest of honor on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
During the bilateral meeting held in Antalya Viacheslav Volodin proposed to sign a Protocol of intention on establishment of High-level Inter-parliamentary Commission between Russia and Turkey within the framework of the Third Meeting of Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments. He stated that it would record that ”the next step will be the establishment of a joint Commission.“
Viacheslav Volodin also invited Binali Yildirim to visit Moscow.
”I propose to sign this agreement [on the work of the High-level Inter-parliamentary Commission] during your official visit. It will be a serious step towards building relations between our parliaments,“ Chairman of the State Duma concluded.
Viacheslav Volodin also emphasized that inter-parliamentary relations between Russia and Turkey should develop more dynamically, and it is necessary to work more actively, taking as an example the cooperation between the Presidents of two countries — Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
