Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (Elected in a single mandate electoral district № 164 – Saratov district, Saratov Oblast)
mentioned the modern technologies and the speed of their
progress in his speech at the plenary session of the 12th International
BRICS Parliamentary Forum and noted the importance of “adapting national legislations
to changing conditions”.
“Artificial intelligence brings not only opportunities but also modern challenges. We should realize and do everything possible to make artificial intelligence serve people. We should avoid such situations when artificial intelligence rules humanity. This is dangerous and we can prevent in advance,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin.
“If you support, we propose to create an expert council within the BRICS parliamentary dimension which can include relevant AI specialists from our countries. This would help exchanging the best legislative practices,” said Vyacheslav Volodin addressing his colleagues.
The session’s participants met the proposal of Vyacheslav Volodin with loud applauses.
