The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
had a telephone conversation with the President of the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Jorge Rodríguez Gómez.
Issues of further development of inter-parliamentary dialogue between the two states were discussed during the conversation
“Our strategic partnership is based on the principles of friendship, trust, mutual respect, absence of double standards and non-interference in the internal affairs of each other,” said the Chairman of the State Duma. According to him, the relations between Russia and Venezuela are not affected by political factors.
Both countries stand for building multipolar world, overcoming foreign illegal economic pressure, protecting their sovereignty and right to develop independently, as added Vyascheslav Volodin. Jorge Rodríguez Gómez supported the Chairman of the State Duma and noted that Venezuela shared the same approach.
During the conversation, the Chairman of the State Duma informed the Speaker of the Parliament of Venezuela, that on October 21, the State Duma at the plenary meeting unanimously ratified the Treaty between Russia and Venezuela on Strategic Partnership and Cooperation. The relevant law has been recently signed by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
“This is our great responsibility. For our part, within the framework of inter-parliamentary dimension, we should strengthen our interaction, provide all the necessary legislative support to implement the decisions reached at the level of leaders of Russia and Venezuela,” emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma.
Vyacheslav Volodin and Jorge Rodríguez Gómez also agreed to continue dialogue between the State Duma and the National Assembly of Venezuela.
