“We had talks with those people who remember and love Russia. I mean, the embassy staff and those studying at the embassy’s school, and those people living in Vietnam and their ties to Russia may be the most important thing for them, even though they are currently in Vietnam,” stressed Alexey Nechaev.

Vasily Piskarev noted that the Russian House in Hanoi “has traditionally been very popular among local residents: it provides Russian language courses, hosts literary meetings, exhibitions, shows Russian films, as well as concerts and creative evenings with participation of Russian artists and writers.

“The Russian language is not exotic anymore in Vietnam. For several decades, thousands of Vietnamese students have gone to study at leading Russian universities, and Russian culture, literature, and history have constantly remained at the center of attention of the Vietnamese people,” added the parliamentarian.

“Today's meeting with students and schoolchildren once again confirmed that interest in Russia in this country is keen, sincere, and multifaceted. We are convinced that it is important to continue strengthening friendship and cooperation between our nations, especially in education and culture,” emphasized Vasily Piskarev.
