The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
visited the Vietnam Military History Museum. Over
150,000 exhibits, including weapons, sculptures, dioramas, and archival
materials related to the heroic history of the Republic's armed forces are kept
in the Museum.
“When we remember history, we should try to do everything possible to keep the relations developed 80 years ago and pass them on to our descendants,” said Vyacheslav Volodin during his visit to the exhibition.
The museum's first floor features chronologically arranged exhibits dedicated to the country's “northern dependence” from China, European colonial expansion, the resistance wars against France and the United States of America, and the defense and building the country in its modern era. The second floor features an exhibition of patriotic art.
Near the main entrance, there is the 45-meter-tall Victory Column, erected in honor of the country's declaration of independence on September 2, 1945.
The Chairman of the State Duma is paying an official visit to Vietnam. Vyacheslav Volodin has met with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic Trần Thanh Mẫn. They discussed legislative support measures for bilateral cooperation in various fields. The fourth meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of the Republic will be held in Hanoi. As earlier noted Vyacheslav Volodin, the agenda includes issues of development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation and investment climate, strengthening energy ties and role of parliaments in building a just safe world, monitoring scientific and technological legislation, enhancing educational, cultural and tourism cooperation.
