The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
met with the Secretary of the Jilin Provincial
Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of the province Huang Qiang in Changchun.
The issues of developing relations between Russia and China at the interregional level were discussed at the meeting. According to Vyacheslav Volodin, Russia and China have built special allied relations and the heads of states -Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping — mainly contributed to it.
“Jilin Province is very special for us. We should proceed from the principles of good neighborliness, using the foundation of relations between our countries, and do a lot to develop interregional cooperation,” the Chairman of the State Duma said.
Vyacheslav Volodin expressed gratitude to the authorities of the province for their careful attitude to the memory of the feat of Soviet soldiers, to memorials and burials in the region. Before the meeting, the State Duma delegation laid flowers at the monument to the Soviet pilots in the city centre.
The Chairman of the State Duma is paying an official visit to the People’s Republic of China. Earlier, the Chairman of the State Duma was received by Xi Jinping in Beijing. Vyacheslav Volodin also met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji. The tenth meeting of the Inter-parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National People's Congress of China was also held in Beijing.
