held a meeting with the parliamentary delegation from
Vietnam headed by the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist
Republic of Vietnam Lê Minh Hoan.
Ivan Melnikov and Lê Minh Hoan noted the importance of the parliamentary dimension for bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on upcoming inter-parliamentary events. The meeting participants paid special attention to the proposals for making inter-parliamentary cooperation more effective, made by the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Tô Lâm during his visit to Russia in May 2025.
Ivan Melnikov asked to convey to Comrade Tô Lâm, as well as to the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Comrade Trần Thanh Mẫn, warm friendly words of greetings from the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
The meeting participants also briefly discussed some issues of bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic and investment areas, as well as in the fields of education, science, and culture and youth exchange. One of the main topics of discussion was the inadmissibility of “rewriting” the history of World War II and belittling the decisive role of the Soviet Union in achieving Victory.
