Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin held a meeting with Special Representative of the Co-Presidents of Nicaragua for Russian Affairs Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo
The meeting participants discussed issues of enhancing economic and humanitarian cooperation, cultural exchange, as well as the formation of a legal framework within the inter-parliamentary dimension.
According to the Chairman of the State Duma, relations between Russia and Nicaragua “are distinguished by openness, the absence of double standards, and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.”

in the world, our cooperation is getting stronger, we have started to understand each other better, have united in the face of common challenges and have done our best in addressing them,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin

Laureano Facundo Ortega Murillo emphasized that it was a great honor for him to attend the celebration events in Moscow on the Victory Day over fascism: “Thus, we wanted to show that we are very grateful to the Russian people for liberating us from fascism and Nazism.”
The issue of holding the next meeting of the Commission on Cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of the Republic of Nicaragua was also discussed at the meeting.
