The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
recalled that the day before he had returned late from Iran, where, on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, he took part in the farewell ceremony with Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and other authorities who died in a helicopter crash.

“Millions of mourners took to the streets in Tehran and other Iranian cities to pay respects to to their President,” he posted on his Telegram channel. “Against this background, the comments by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that the whole world and the Iranians themselves would only be better off without Raisi sounded cynical and inhumane,” he added.

“Only a representative of a regime who lives in a full sense of exclusivity could say this. Such boorish attitude causes the growing irritation among people of other countries. The word “American” will soon be considered as bad word all over the world because of Washington’s policy,” concluded Vyacheslav Volodin.
