The State Duma approved Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Deputy Prime Ministers and Federal Ministers

Members of the State Duma approved the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Deputy Prime Ministers and Federal Ministers (except for the Ministers of the so-called “power bloc”). After State Duma’s approval, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a special decree on their appointment.

Members of the State Duma fulfilled their new powers granted by the Constitution of the Russian Federation according to its amendments adopted in 2020, when Vladimir Putin decided to transfer part of the powers of the head of state to the Parliament.

The approval of the nominees took place after extensive discussion: there were held meetings of the candidate for the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation with all factions, candidates for the positions of Deputy Prime Ministers and Federal Ministers met with representatives of relevant State Duma committees, presented detailed programs of their work and answered questions from parliamentarians. Their nominations were later discussed and supported by a majority vote at the plenary meetings.
