The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
held a meeting with the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Yemen Ahmed bin Mubarak.

They discussed promising areas of cooperation between Russia and Yemen, as well as issues of regional security.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma, the visit of the Prime Minister of Yemen will give new impetus to the development of bilateral relations.

“Despite the difficulties, our bilateral trade is increasing. It increased by 90% comparing to the results of 2023 and 2022. That proves that we can develop relations in any situation,” said Vyacheslav Volodin.

He mentioned energy, agriculture, fishing and mineral extraction among the promising areas of cooperation between Russia and Yemen.

“If we talk about our foreign policy, it is based on the principles of mutual respect, non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, and mutually beneficial cooperation. We are interested in building relations with as many countries as possible, we adhere to building a multipolar world, a just world order,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.

Yemen paid great attention to developing relations with Russia, as said Ahmed bin Mubarak.

“As we say in our Arab culture, “a friend in need is a friend indeed.” And we believe that that is the same in Russian culture, and this unites us. That is why we strive to strengthen our relationship,” emphasized Ahmed bin Mubarak.

According to him, Yemen “appreciates the position of the Russian Federation in the international arena on the situations in the Red Sea and the Gaza Strip, as well as Russia’s openness and willingness to cooperate and provide assistance.”

“Tens of thousands of military personnel and civilians in Yemen received education in the USSR. Half of my colleagues graduated from the Soviet universities and can speak Russian. Therefore, we have a serious basis for building relationship. Despite the fact that illegitimate sanctions are being imposed against Russia, I am convinced that even in these conditions we have serious chances to develop cooperation,” added Ahmed bin Mubarak.

Vyacheslav Volodin instructed the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy Maxim Topilin Topilin Maxim Anatolievich Topilin
