America”, said Alexander Babakov.
The parliamentarians discussed further development of inter-parliamentary ties between the two states in various fields and noted the positive dynamics of cooperation between the State Duma and the National Congress of Honduras at the level of relevant committees and commissions. In December 2023, there was held a joint meeting of the State Duma Committee on Security and Corruption Control and delegation of the Congress, where the parliamentarians of the two states reached agreements on cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of security, corruption control and countering organized crime.
The meeting participants also discussed issues related to the exchange of experience on voting processes at plenary sessions of the parliaments.
On September 29, 2023, the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin held a meeting with the President of the National Congress of Honduras Luis Rolando Redondo Guifarro on the sidelines of the First International Parliamentary Conference “Russia-Latin America”.
In 2024, Honduras chairs the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.
