The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation. Elected in single mandate constituency № 163 (Saratov constituency - Saratov Oblast)
met with the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in Beijing.
Vyacheslav Volodin conveyed warm words and good wishes from President of Russia Vladimir Putin to Xi Jinping.
“Your relations in many respects helped make our countries not only strategic partners, but also strategic friends,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin. According to him, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin have managed to reach “the peak of development of relations between Russia and China.”
“The task of the parliament is to legislate all the decisions that have been reached at the highest level, to do everything possible on our part to contribute to the development of relations between our countries and nations within the framework of the parliamentary dimension,” emphasized Vyacheslav Volodin.
The Chairman of the State Duma also recalled that in 2009, the CPC initiated signing of an agreement with the United Russia. “It was the initiative of the Communist Party of China to invite us to Beijing. During the signing, we got acquainted. This provided a good basis for the development of relations, including at the inter-party level,” said Vyacheslav Volodin. He added that all political forces represented in the State Duma understood the importance of developing relations with China: “These relations are very important for us. China is our neighbor, and we have been building relations for a long time and we value them.”
“You are actively working to develop Russia-China relations and multi-dimensional cooperation, and have already made and make a positive contribution to strengthening the traditional friendship between our nations,” said Xi Jinping addressing Vyacheslav Volodin.
He stressed that the Chinese side, together with Russia, “is ready to take joint actions and constantly deepen bilateral relations characterized by eternal good- neighborliness and comprehensive strategic mutually beneficial cooperation.” According to the President of the People's Republic of China, our countries together can “give more stabilizing force to prosperity and stability in the world.”
“We are looking forward to further deepening cooperation between the State Duma and the National People's Congress of China in order to create a solid legal basis for the development of bilateral relations for the benefit of our nations,” concluded Xi Jinping.
On November 21–23, Vyacheslav Volodin and the delegation of the State
Duma are paying an official visit to the People’s Republic of China. They are
in Beijing and they will also visit Nanjing. The day before, the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee
of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji. They discussed issues of development of inter-parliamentary relations between Russia and China, first of all, issues of providing legislative support to the decisions adopted by Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping. Vyacheslav Volodin and members of the State Duma
also laid flowers at the Monument to the People's Heroes and visited the Museum
of the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing.
On November 22, Vyacheslav Volodin visited Beijing Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and learned more about the best practices of Chinese school education during his visit to the Shijia School.
