The Deputy Chairwoman of the State Duma, Co-Chair of the Commission Anna Kuznetsova
Kuznetsova
Anna Yurievna
proposed to adopt an international convention on the prevention of terrorism against children.
“I propose to study the issue of adopting an international convention on the prevention of terrorism against children and their involvement in the activities of terrorist organizations. Colleagues, we are ready to cooperate on this issue with all authorized structures,” she said.
According to the parliamentarian, international anti-terrorism legislation is based on a sectoral principle and that means that “certain types of crimes are equated to various types of terrorism.”
According to Anna Kuznetsova, there should be an urgent response from the international human rights community, since official support for regimes that, as the parliamentarian noted, “have all signs of a terrorist group at the state level,” threatens the security of people.
During the meeting of the Commission, Anna Kuznetsova also said that the parliaments of other countries should be involved in countering the information aggression of the West. “I think that our working group should prepare proposals for cooperation with foreign parliaments to counter information aggression [against the Russian Federation] of Western states and the Kiev regime,” said the Co-Chair of the Commission.
Anna Kuznetsova added that the issue had been already discussed with the Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky
Slutsky
Leonid Eduardovich
: “There is readiness for such interaction.
I propose to prepare together and agree, together with our commission, on the amount of data that will be sent at the first stage to parliamentarians — our
colleagues in other states.”
Anna Kuznetsova also said that during the International Parliamentary Conference “Russia — Latin America” there were held negotiations with foreign parliamentarians and there was presented information in Spanish and Portuguese about the work of the Commission and there was “very great interest” on the part of the Conference participants.
