The meeting participants discussed issues related to development of inter-parliamentary relations, importance of preserving language, religion, history and traditions in the new conditions of a multipolar world.

on such key issues as preservation of cultural heritage, historical memory,

He added that Russia built its relations with other countries on the principles of friendship, non-interference in internal affairs and mutually beneficial cooperation.
“Together, we should build a multipolar world on a just world order, where each state will be able to plan and build its own future, and each nation will have the opportunity to speak native language, learn and preserve history, religion, traditions and customs. Only sovereign states have such an opportunity,” emphasized the Chairman of the State Duma.
Vyacheslav Volodin noted the fact that the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan decided to speak in his native language, Urdu, at the meeting and not in English.
“It is a great honor for us that we have negotiations in Urdu. There is a translation in Urdu. And we will certainly convey to our people priorities of the Russian Federation,” said Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani.
“Before my visit to Russia, I did not even expect that I would find so many people who share my point of view on the preservation of culture, language, traditions,” he added.
The Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan agreed that inter-parliamentary cooperation is important as the parliament is “vox populi”. “Russian President Vladimir Putin plays a big role in the development of relations with Pakistan, and we see that he pays great attention to that. I hope that our relations will continue to develop in a manner of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation,” he added.
Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani proposed to enhance dialogue at the level of friendship groups between the parliamentarians of the two countries.
The Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan noted Russia's position on the issue of preserving national culture and traditions. “Religions are often insulted under the pretext of democracy and liberal values. In this regard, I would like to note the positive role of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who constantly emphasizes the need to respect other religions, cultural traditions and values,” said the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan.
Vyacheslav Volodin stressed that the economic ties between Russia and Pakistan were developing dynamically, the trade between the countries in the first quarter of 2023 increased by almost 50% compared to the same period of 2022.
Pakistan is grateful to Russia for provided assistance in the trade and economic areas, according to Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani. He also expressed hope that the cooperation rate would increase, and suggested enhancing bilateral contacts between business representatives and the chambers of commerce and industry of both countries.
Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani invited Vyacheslav Volodin to pay a visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. “We will be glad to welcome you in our homeland,” he said. The Chairman of the State Duma thanked for the invitation.
